Karagwe, Kagera – DRK General Merchants, a leading name in Tanzania’s coffee trading industry, has announced the expansion of its regional coffee processing facilities in Karagwe. The move is set to enhance the district’s position as a prominent coffee hub, benefiting hundreds of smallholder farmers in the region.

This initiative will not only boost the quality of coffee produced but also open up new markets for local farmers. "Our goal is to create a sustainable supply chain that directly benefits the hardworking farmers of Karagwe," said the company’s CEO. The upgraded facilities are expected to be operational by mid-2025, promising increased efficiency and higher returns for all stakeholders.
